We are a Squamish-based mountain bike organization fuelled by our passion for sport, community, and the environment that surrounds us. We provide mountain bike coaching, guiding, private & group lessons, and camps in addition to bike rentals and accommodation for those visiting from afar.
From our basecamp in Squamish, we can bring you to the best trails based on your riding skills and preferences enabling every guest to reach their fullest potential (and have the most fun) while providing motivation and guidance along the way.
All mountain bike trails in Squamish sit on the territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw.
We recognize that we operate and live on this territory. Many of our programs ride in a trail network close to the Wiwk’m village as well as in Alice Lake, a place known as Ni’nich St’ena’tch by the Squamish people, meaning deer hunting grounds. As we pedal past cedar trees marked by harvested bark we are reminded that the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh people have lived on these lands since time immemorial.
As people who value friendships and community, we strive to work, live and recreate on these lands in a respectful and reciprocal way. Please read below to see how we roll alongside and informed by the hopes, dreams and excitement of youth on this territory.
Squamish Nation, SORCA and Dialed In Cycling
Squamish Nation Recreation, SORCA, and Dialed In Cycling have been developing the foundations for the ongoing Squamish Nation Youth Mountain Bike Program.
All staff at Dialed In Cycling have in some form been impacted in a positive way through spending time on a bike. We hold in high regard the community of mountain biking; including trail builders, riders, athletes and the local moms, dads and kids that make it such a wonderful thing to be a part of.
In 2019 Matthew and Dan recognized the need to contribute to and engage with the Squamish Nation, in particular the youth. That first year we began building relationships, meeting youth and young adults interested in riding mountain bikes and developing ideas for what a program that gives back could look like.
In early 2020 we partnered with SORCA to begin developing the Squamish Nation Youth Mountain Bike Program. Within it, we run a weekly ride program for Squamish Nation and indigenous youth. Long term, this program is functioning as a mentorship and capacity-building initiative as we work alongside these youth in their journey on bikes. Each year, new young riders are welcomed into the group and the more experienced riders become the mentors. As this journey of fun on two wheels takes place youth have the opportunity to receive professional coaching certifications, first aid training and mentorship around business management within the mountain bike industry.
Youth are an integral part of any community, however, it does not start and end with them. Through this partnership and eagerness to build relationships, we are also supporting indigenous adult social rides wherein our coaches provide instruction as well as fun and diverse rides accessible to all ages and ability levels.
Our hope is to continue building long-lasting friendships and walk (ride) in a way that reflects our understanding and appreciation for the long-standing history and connection to the land that the Squamish and Indigenous Peoples of Canada have and will continue to have.
