Designed for the intermediate rider looking to improve their cornering skills. We will dive deeper into the physics of cornering and develop better line choice, more aggressive body position and an understanding of a variety of turns. During this session, we will be tackling corners on blue & black trails.
Who is this course for?
You have been biking for a few years and can ride most blue and some black trails in Squamish. You’re familiar with proper body and bike positioning when cornering but you’d like to improve corners for maximum flow on the trail. The ideal candidate has completed our Intermediate 4-pack or equivalent experience.
Bike skills needed: You enjoy riding blue trails in Squamish and can tackle most sections but want to gain confidence and speed on flow trails like Half/Full Nelson and Miki’s Magic.
Endurance needed: You lead an active lifestyle and are comfortable spending 2 hours on your bike, pedalling at a conversational pace uphill.
What will you learn?
- Body positioning for flat and bermed corners
- Advanced cornering skills and line choice – learn how to enter high and exit fast
- Selective braking – carry more speed and avoid the temptation to touch those brakes
This sounds a bit above my level right now.
That’s okay! We recommend starting with our Beginner 4-Pack or Cornering 101.
This is a little basic… what’s next?
