Kids Mountain Biking in Squamish: Camps, Clinics, and Where to Start

July 26, 2026

Squamish is one of the best places in the world to ride a mountain bike — and it turns out it’s also one of the best places in the world to learn. The trails here are varied, the riding community is welcoming, and getting kids onto bikes and into the forest is something we take seriously at Dialed In Cycling.

Whether your child is three years old and just figured out pedalling, or ten and ready to start pushing their limits on real trails, here’s everything you need to know about getting kids riding in Squamish.

Summer Camps

2-Day Summer Mountain Bike Camp
Our two-day camp runs Thursdays and Fridays, 10am–3pm, and is designed for beginners to intermediate riders ages 4–10. Kids are grouped by age and ability, so the four-year-olds aren’t being dragged up black diamond trails and the confident ten-year-olds aren’t stuck on the gravel path.

Across two days riders explore age-appropriate trails, build foundational skills, and spend serious time outdoors with coaches and new friends. We mix trail riding, skill development, and games — it’s structured enough to actually teach something and loose enough that kids have a genuinely good time.

3-Day Summer Mountain Bike Camp
Three days means more repetition, more terrain, and more progression. The three-day format runs Monday through Wednesday (most weeks), 10am–3pm, and is open to riders ages 4–16. If your child has done the two-day camp before or is a more confident rider looking for a deeper experience, this is the one.

Both camps include a complimentary bike check — our mechanics inspect your child’s bike for safety and flag anything that needs attention before camp starts. Book it as an add-on at checkout and drop the bike off at least two weeks before camp.

After-School Programs — Back in September

Summer camps wrap up at the end of August, but the riding doesn’t stop. Our after-school programs kick back in September and run through October — a great option for local families who want to keep the momentum going into fall.

Case of the Mondays — Ages 4–5
Mondays, 4:00–5:30pm. Four-week blocks. For kids who love riding bikes and being outdoors. Focus is on balance, braking, body position, and having fun. No pressure, no drills — just small groms riding bikes and loving it. $199 for four sessions.

Fall dates: September 14, 21, 28, October 5.

Trail Tuesdays — Ages 6–8
Tuesdays, 4:00–6:00pm. Four-week blocks. Kids explore Squamish trails in small groups with experienced coaches. Focus on trail awareness, body position, braking, and line choice. $199 for four sessions.

Fall dates: September 15, 22, 29, October 6.

Rad Riders Wednesdays — Ages 7–10
Wednesdays, four-week blocks. For confident young riders comfortable on blue trails who are ready to push further. Each program starts with an assessment ride so coaches can group riders by ability. Focus on climbing efficiency, body position, technical features, and consistency. $199 for four sessions.

Fall dates: September 16, 23, October 7, 14.

What to Know Before You Sign Up

Kids are grouped by age and ability across all programs — your child won’t be riding out of their depth or held back by the group. If you’re unsure which program is right, email us at coach@dialedincycling.com and we’ll help you figure it out.

All programs take place on Squamish trails and are adjusted based on rider ability, group dynamics, and trail conditions. Coaches are experienced, certified, and genuinely good with kids.

FAQ

What age can kids start mountain biking in Squamish?
Our youngest programs start at age 3–4 with Case of the Mondays and the Fun on Two Wheels camp group. As long as your child can pedal with hand brakes they’re ready to start exploring trails.

Do kids need their own bike for camps and programs?
No. We have rental bikes for every age and size. If your child is registered in a summer camp, we also offer a complimentary bike check to make sure their own bike is safe and camp-ready.

What skill level do kids need for the summer camps?
Our summer camps are designed for beginner to intermediate riders. Kids are grouped by age and ability so everyone rides at the right level.

Are the after-school programs for locals only?
They’re designed with local families in mind since they run weekly over four-week blocks — but if you’re in Squamish for an extended stay, get in touch and we’ll figure something out.

What’s the difference between the 2-day and 3-day summer camp?
The 3-day camp gives more time for progression, repetition, and variety of terrain. If your child has done the 2-day camp before or is a more confident rider, the 3-day format is worth it.

How do I know which after-school program is right for my child?
Age is a starting point but ability matters more. Case of the Mondays is for ages 4–5 just getting onto trails. Trail Tuesdays is for ages 6–8 building confidence. Rad Riders is for ages 7–10 who are already comfortable on blue trails and ready for more challenge. When in doubt, email us.
